Reading comprehension 2: Read the passage below and choose A, B, C, or D to answer each question.

In the past, high school football coaches relied on a chalkboard or dry-erase board to communicate plays and strategy with their team. Today, many coaches use tablets connected to the internet, allowing them to see plays only seconds after they occur. Large-screen televisions are also common on the sidelines, enabling coaches to instruct entire groups of players at once and make immediate corrections or change plays in real time.

High-definition video cameras mounted on 40-foot towers behind the end lines, which were once reserved for bands, cheerleaders, and field equipment, now record games and practices. These remote-controlled cameras capture high-quality footage that is uploaded and stored digitally. Coaches and coordinators can review plays, analyze performance, and create edited highlight reels. This process replaces the old system of manually handling film rolls, sending them to labs, and waiting for days for results.

With the advancement of camera technology, video can now be uploaded and shared online. Platforms such as Hudl allow teams to trade and view game films efficiently, breaking downplays into individual sequences for detailed analysis. Drones are also becoming common for capturing additional angles during practices. While drones are not permitted at games, scrimmages, or events in Minnesota due to potential distractions, they provide a useful tool for enhancing performance analysis during practice sessions.

Not every school district uses that level of technology and equipment, which can cost up to 60,000. Some smaller school districts in greater Minnesota have yet to fully embrace the advantages of high-tech game films. Cost can be a barrier, but it is also true that most schools just do not need new age equipment.
